This one’s gonna be a wild one! Join us at Roost - Vol. 2, a series hosted by musician-poet Carolina Chauffe (hemlock) featuring readings & performances from queer writers with roots in the south, plus a wine bar hosted by rainbow wines.
The readers
Jessie McCarty is a Chicago-based poet, documentarian, and cataloger; author of ‘The Bovine Huff’ - nominated for Best New Poetry Book and Best New Poet in the Chicago Reader (3rd, 2022). Their upcoming work ‘Louisiana Folk Songs’ is set to release July 2023.
Margo O’Connell is a Chicago-based writer and multi-disciplinary artist whose sexy-holy-sad-sweet poetry chapbook ‘Angel’s Share’ will be published on May 25.
Carter St Hogan released their debut book of short stories, One or Several Deserts (11:11 Press), this spring. Their work explores themes of mysticism, madness, social isolation, geo-eroticism, and trans liberation. They live in Austin, TX, where they perform folk music as Creekbed Carter, grow okra, and sit under juniper trees.

Brody Parrish Craig (they/them) is the author of the award-winning chapbook Boyish and editor of TWANG, a regional anthology of TGNC+ creators in the south/midwest. Their first book, The Patient is an Unreliable Historian, is forthcoming from Omnidawn Publishing in 2024.
